More recently it has become known that past, present and future UK governments have no intention of stopping the boats and protecting our borders, in actuality, as those crossing the channel from France are as we know, young fit fighting age men who have been trained by UK Armed Forces in Turkey and East Ukraine, then flown to France to be put in a boat and 'lost at sea' so that Maritime Law takes over and the RNLI take to the water to 'rescue' them. The outboard motors on the small boats are then stowed on pallets and placed in one transit van, the small boats on another so that they can be shipped back to France to be re-used. All at the same time as those men are put up in 4 & 5 star hotels, given medical assessments twice a week, dentist appointments and cash to spend. 

As an island nation we simply don't have the space, infrastructure or finances to cope with mass influxes of people. Persons attempting to enter the UK illegally should automatically be detained as a non-citizen and imprisoned prior to deportation. The asylum application process for those in real need of sanctuary and assistance needs to be speeded up. Persons applying for immigration via the proper route should of course be welcome.
